Checklist Getting Your Home Ready for Sale - Part 3

You’ve done the hard work to get your home looking great and now it’s time for the more enjoyable part of getting your home ready for sale – styling.

Styling/staging – There are professionals who are experienced in this area and do it every day as part of their job. If you are not confident in how to present your home in its best light, get help from someone with the know-how.

Furniture – Remove unnecessary furniture from your home to create more space and to make it easy for buyers to move around the home during inspection times. It makes sense to even store your current furniture and hire more modern and space-saving pieces to make the interior more attractive.

Door Mat – As simple as it may sound a fresh door mat that is devoid of stains and dirt is a must for your entranceway. This is perhaps the cheapest way to make your entrance more inviting!

Bed Linen – Consider buying fresh new bed linen to dress all the beds in the home. Not only will they provide a modern and clean look to the bedrooms, the bonus will be that you can take these linens with you to your new home and enjoy them there.

Cupboards - Tidy the inside of cupboards, closets and fridge. You’d be surprised at how nosey some people can be! It is a good idea to half empty some of your closets to show the potential space available and give the feeling of generous area.

Take advice from your real estate agent also. Having seen countless homes for sale in the past, they will have a great idea of what works and what doesn’t when buyers come to see your home.

We wish you the best of luck and many happy buyers for the sale of your home!
